How To Renumber Items To Group By Category
Learn how to group items by category when renumbering.
You can assign Categories and group them in the catalog when entering items. However, as items are entered when they arrive, their item numbers are often not contiguous within a category.
The Item Renumbering page can reassign item numbers so they are grouped by category.
To set this up, click on Items in the main Auction Dashboard menu and then click Numbering.

An example from a demonstration event.In this example, we want to renumber our Paper Bidding Type only so the first "category" starts at 100, 101, 102, etc., and the following "category" at 200, 201, 202, etc.
There are four fields to set in the Settings panel at the top of the page.
An example from a demonstration event.In the bottom part of the page, use the Choose Items control to select just the Paper Bidding Type.
Use the options (three vertical dots) icon to open the menu to choose the Specific Item Types option.

The results page will show how the items were renumbered.
