A2P 10DLC
A2P 10DLC refers to a system in the United States that allows businesses to send Application-to-Person (A2P) type messaging via standard 10-digit long code (10DLC) phone numbers.
This means using a standard 10-digit phone number to send or receive text messages in an automated way. The texting services available with our paid plans fall into this category.
Registration Requirements
Organizations using text messaging need to have a profile registered with the Campaign Trust Registry.
You can set up this profile directly through your Auctria dashboard by clicking on Communications Text Profile. See Advanced Texting Profile for more details.
There are no additional costs associated with registering this profile.
Texting Quotas and Rate Limits
The A2P 10DLC system includes quotas and rate limits for sending texts:
Daily Limits
- General limit: 3,000 texts per day across all carriers
- T-Mobile limit: 1,000 messages to T-Mobile customers specifically
- Texts exceeding these limits will be silently dropped by the telephone carriers
Rate Limits
Most providers enforce a rate limit of 0.25 message segments (240 characters) per second. For example, sending 75 texts will take approximately 5 minutes for full delivery. This may limit the effectiveness of custom texts for time-sensitive announcements during an event, but generally does not affect bidding notifications.
Registration Types
Two types of industry registration are available:
- Standard registration: Supports texting volume up to 3,000 texts per day
- High-volume registration: Allows much higher volumes but requires additional identity verification and a registration fee
Auctria currently supports the standard registration process. If your event requires texting volumes above 3,000 per day, please contact support to discuss your options.
