Learn how to set up an in-person event with tickets that guests can buy on your event website.
To sell tickets online, you'll need an event website, the right registration settings, and ticket items for guests to buy. Start by planning what kinds of tickets you want to offer.
Plan Your Tickets
Before you set anything up, decide which ticket options fit your event:
| Ticket Option | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Individual tickets | Guests choose how many tickets to buy. | General Admission |
| Group tickets | One ticket item admits several guests. | Couples Ticket, Group of 8 |
| Table tickets | A group ticket with assigned seating. | Table of 8 |
Also decide whether you need to limit the total number of tickets sold, for example, to stay within your venue's capacity.
Step 1: Create Your Event Website
Guests buy tickets on your event website. If you haven't created one yet, see How To Create A New Event Website.
Step 2: Set Your Ticket Capacity
If your venue has a capacity limit, set it in your Ticket Settings. You can do this before or after you create your website.
Step 3: Check Your Registration Settings
Review your Registration/Checkout settings, especially the Ticket Checkout Options. These control how guests register and check out when buying tickets.
Step 4: Create Your Tickets
Create a ticket item for each ticket option you planned. Individual tickets use the default settings. Group and table tickets need a few extra settings.
See Adding And Editing Tickets for step-by-step instructions.
