Learn the two ways to collect donations on your event website, and how each one is tracked.
| Approach | How It's Recorded | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Cash donations | As a general "Cash Donation," with no item number | General giving with no specific purpose |
| Donation items | Against a specific item, with an item number | Funding specific projects, or tracking several goals |
Cash Donations
Add a Donation Element to a page on your event website. You can also add a section with one during your event.
Set up Donation Levels so guests can choose an amount with one click. The easier it is to give, the more likely guests are to donate.
Guests see these donations as a "Cash Donation." Auctria records them as cash, without an item number.
Donation Items
To track donations to specific projects, use Donation Items, or set a Donation Element to Donation Item Mode.
Each donation is recorded against the item's number, so both you and your guests can see where the money went. See Fund A Need Online for an example.
Add a Thermometer
Set a Fundraiser Target Value on a Donation item to add a Thermometer to its Item Details page on your event website. Guests can see progress toward the goal.
