Use donor references to thank your donors, confirm their contributions, and send acknowledgment letters.
Examples below use a sample donor, Lakeside Cabins.
Which form should I use?
Which form works depends on where you use the reference:
- Emails built in the email editor and the donor receipt email: full form only, such as
{{ Donor.Name }}. - Basic emails, donor receipt headers and footers, and Word document templates: short form only, such as
{{ Name }}.

Greeting business donors:
When the donor is a business, use {{ Contact }} in your greeting so the message reaches a person: "Dear {{ Contact }}" instead of "Dear Lakeside Cabins".

{{ Address }} is the quickest way to add a complete mailing address to a letter.
Word document templates only
These references only work in Word document templates. Elsewhere, they show up blank.

Loop through lists with {% foreach ListName %} … {% end %}. See Lists and Word document templates.
To show how many entries a list has, or their total value, add _Count or _Value to the list name. For example, {{ ItemsDonated_Count }} shows the number of items donated.
