Use payment references in Word document templates to show how and when a payment was made, and how it was credited to participants.
Payment references describe a single payment. Use them inside a loop through a participant's Payments list in a Word document template. See Lists and Word document templates.
Payments in receipt emails:
In purchase and registration receipt emails, {{ Payment }} is just the amount paid. The payment references on this page don't apply there. See What's included in system emails.

Information entered by your team:
{{ CreatedBy }} and {{ Notes }} show information entered by your team. Check that it's appropriate to share before including it in a participant-facing document.
Credit card details
For card payments, Charge links to the card charge. Add a dot to choose what to show.

Payment splits
When one payment covers more than one participant (for example, one person paying for their whole household), the payment is split between those participants. Loop through PaymentSplits to show each part of the split.

Linked records:
Bidder and Payment link to the participant and the full payment. On their own, {{ Bidder }} and {{ Payment }} don't show anything. Add a dot and a field, such as {{ Bidder.FirstName }} or {{ Payment.CreatedAt }}.
