Learn how to set the default purchase behavior for items.
The Online Purchase Behavior option controls whether For Sale Items and Donation Items bought online go through the shopping cart for payment, or go on the participant's account to pay later.
Online Purchase Behavior Options
The Online Purchase Behavior setting.

Immediate Payment Only
The purchaser goes through checkout to pay for this item. They can remove the item from the cart before they finish.
The payment covers this purchase only. It doesn't include any other balance the participant owes. If the purchaser isn't registered for the event yet, they go through Registration/Checkout during checkout.
When they finish, a Participant registration/purchase receipt System Email is sent for this purchase only.
Coupon Codes Need Immediate Payment Only
If you use Coupon Codes with For Sale Items, the item must use Immediate Payment Only for the coupon code to work.
Use this option for Tickets and for limited-supply items that must be paid for upfront.
Add To Account Only
The item goes straight to the participant's account. It doesn't go through the Customize Shopping Cart Text, and the participant can't remove it themselves.
The item appears on Participant Statements and is included in the participant's balance. They can pay it later from their My Account page.
Participants can only pay their full balance from My Account. For a partial payment, an organizer must record it on the Checkout page.
Use this option for For Sale items with unlimited quantity, and for donations, so participants can pledge without leaving the event experience.
Account For Participants, Otherwise Immediate
This option depends on whether the participant is signed in:
- Signed in: the item is added to their account, as with Add To Account Only.
- Not signed in: they pay right away, as with Immediate Payment Only.
Auctria only knows a participant is registered for the event when they're signed in.
This option takes payment upfront from people who haven't registered, while letting registered participants keep going without stopping to pay.
