Custom Questions and Fields

Please note that custom questions and custom fields are currently only available in the beta preview of the Auctria app.
To access the beta preview, you can click on the preview link banner at the top of your Auctria dashboard.
Learn how to set up custom questions to collect event-specific information on the event website.
Custom Questions and Custom Fields are brand-new tools in Auctria that let you collect event-specific details directly from your guests, right on your event website. Use them to gather the information you need during registration, ticketing, checkout, or when receiving solicited item donations.
⭐ What Are Custom Questions?
Custom questions can be added to specific forms to request additional information from your guests and donors at key moments throughout the event experience.
You can add custom questions to:
- Registration and checkout forms
- Ticket purchase forms (stored with the guest record)
- Solicited item submission forms
- Solicited item donor information forms
Use custom questions to collect anything your event needs: team names, golf handicaps, t-shirt sizes, donor details, and more!
🔧 Accessing Custom Questions
To get started:
- Open your Auctria dashboard.
- Go to Event Custom Questions

This opens the Custom Questions page, where you'll see tabs for each form type you can customize:
Contact Details
Contact form questions for registration and checkout forms for the purchaser/bidder, stored on theParticipanttable.
Example: How did you hear about us?Ticket Holder
Guest questions for each ticket purchased, stored with theguest record.
Example: Golf handicap.Solicited Items
Item-specific questions for solicited item donation forms, stored on theSolicitedItemtable.
Example: Pick-up or Drop Off e-Certificate?Solicited Item Donors
Donor-specific questions for solicited item donation forms, stored on theSolicitedItemtable.
Example: Employer Name and Address
Select the form you want to modify by clicking on its tab.
➕ Add Custom Question
- Once you have selected which form you wish to modify, click Add Custom Question.

- In the pop-up window:
- Enter your question text.
- Choose a question type:
- Short text
- Long text
- Choices
- Checkbox
- Select whether the question is required to submit the form.
- Click Save Question to save your new custom question.
This allows you to tailor the form's fields to the information your event needs.
🗂️ Store Answers Using Custom Fields
Each custom question must be linked to a custom field, which stores the answer on the associated participant or item record.
- In the Where will answers be stored? section, click the dropdown and select the option to
Add a new custom field. - Enter a label for the field. The Auctria system automatically generates a suggested field name in CamelCase.
Custom fields help you keep all guest and item information organized and accessible throughout your event.
🚀 Final Notes
Once your custom question has been created for a specific form, the question will appear on that form on your event website.


Saved fields will appear in the Custom Fields section on the related record (guest or item), making the data easy to reference later.
