Module 4: Catalogs & Items
Showcasing Your Auction and Donation Items
Your item catalog is the heart of your event website. In this video, weβll make sure your items are displayed the way you want, so guests can browse, bid, and donate with ease.
π Step 1: Ensure Catalogs Are Visible
Auctriaβs smart templates automatically generate pages and catalogs based on the items you create in your dashboard.
When you add live or online auction items, raffle tickets, admission tickets, or sponsorships, matching catalog pages appear on your event website.
You can add items by clicking the + button on your main dashboard, or by selecting Add New Item on the Items page (left sidebar).
π‘ Tip: Catalogs only appear if the item type has been added.
π Step 2: Link & Configure Items
Next, check that your items are linked correctly.
From your event website, click an Item Catalog element to select it. In the left sidebar, choose Configure in the Items Displayed field.
Here, you can review or adjust filters that control which items appear. For example, you might want to show only raffle tickets, or highlight sponsorships.
If youβre using a template, each catalog page is already set up for you. But you can also drag and drop new catalog elements onto a page and configure them yourself.
π‘ Tip: Double-check visibility settings before launch.
π’ Step 3: Organize Auction Items
Clear numbering helps guests navigate your auction. Use consistent item numbers and group similar items together (like gift baskets, trips, or dining experiences) so your catalog feels organized and easy to browse.
Want to highlight special items? Check the highlight item box in the item details so they stand out.
π‘ Tip: Clear numbering makes browsing easier.
π¨ Step 4: Style Your Catalog
Finally, letβs customize how your catalog looks. Under Catalog Style, switch between card layouts to see what works best for your items.
You can also toggle features like a search bar, pagination, or drill-to-details to give guests more ways to browse. Event items can be set to grid or calendar view.
For advanced users, you can add custom styling under Add Styling. Just keep in mind that these settings override your theme colors and fonts!
π‘ Tip: Simple layouts keep browsing fast and intuitive.
Youβve set up your catalogs, linked your items, and styled your catalog to match your event.
Next up, weβll add extra sections like maps, carousels, and countdowns to make your site even more engaging.
